Campus Involvement

At the Indiana Gamma Chapter of Phi Delta Theta, we pride ourselves on our involvement on Butler University's campus. We are proud to say that nearly 100% of our brothers are involved in other campus organizations besides Phi Delt, and many of those brothers hold executive positions in those organizations. Aside from all being very active within our chapter, our brothers are also very involved in other campus organizations, be it professional academic fraternities and honors societies, or service groups like Relay for Life and College Mentors for Kids. Even if brothers are not involved in certain specific organizations on campus, we are always striving to build up large attendances to the events and fundraisers those organizations put on.

Homecoming is an event put on by the Butler University Student Foundation at the beginning of every academic year. Every fraternity on campus is paired up with a sorority as teams, and these teams compete in various homecoming competitions, including the king and queen contest, Yell Like Hell, lawn decorations, and parade floats, all based on the chosen theme. Indiana Gamma has been on the winning team for the 2014, 2015, and 2016 homecoming weeks (with Kappa Kappa Gamma, Delta Delta Delta, and Delta Gamma sororities, respectively). Homecoming also includes events such as speakers and community service projects that all partake in. The week culminates with Butler Alumnus visiting from all over to see all that has been going on at Butler University since their graduation.

Relay for Life

Relay for Life is a fundraising event sponsored by the American Cancer Society in which proceeds go to cancer research and taking care of cancer patients. Indiana Gamma has quite a few brothers on the Relay for Life executive board, as well as a few on the normal Relay for Life committee. Along with this, we always strive to have a large representation as a team in this annual event.

Sorority Philanthropy

In Butler Greek Life, there always seems to be some large philanthropic event going on each week. Each sorority on Butler's campus holds at least one philanthropy event per semester, and for the major events, each fraternity puts together a team to compete in the lip sync competition. Each fraternity as a whole will also compete against one another in raising money for the sorority's philanthropy cause. In 2015, with all of our hard work, Indiana Gamma has placed in most of the sororities' events overall, and placed first in three of the seven lip sync competitions. The brothers of Indiana Gamma love to show their support for great causes.
